AWC 100th Anniversary Video on YouTube

In 2009, the Association for Women in Communications (AWC) celebrated 100 years of championing the advancement of women across all communications disciplines by recognizing excellence, promoting leadership and positioning its membership at the forefront of the evolving communications era.  At the 2009 Seattle Convention, the AWC Matrix Foundation unveiled the 100th Anniversary video about AWC.  You can now view the video on YouTube to learn more about this organization that has championed women for more than 100 years. View it on YouTube here.

In 1909, a forward-thinking group of women students at the University of Washington had a vision: an organization whose mission was to raise the standards of journalism, improve working conditions for women in the profession and to inspire the individual to greater efforts.  Their vision became a reality, and Theta Sigma Phi was founded at the University of Washington in Seattle as a professional fraternity.

In 2009, that vision continues to be relevant and vital in the communications industry.  Now an international organization, AWC remains dedicated to fostering excellence in the many communications professions and supporting education and leadership.  Learn more at www.womcom.org.

This 100 year video is presented by the AWC Matrix Foundation, the educational affiliate of AWC.
